New Books in German »
New Books in German, the web site which presents regular reviews of new titles particularly recommended for translation into English. Titles are chosen by an independent committee made up of British literary experts and representatives of the book trade.
InterNationes » Goethe-Institut Inter Nationes is represented across the globe by a network of institutes, cultural associations, arts centres and reading rooms in 76 countries. They monitor cultural and artistic trends in Germany, enabling them – in dialogue with their local partners – to present people worldwide with an up-to-the-minute portrait of Germany.
German Book Office » More than fifty thousand new titles are published in Germany every year - fine literature, incisive scholarship, art and photography books, reissues of great German authors and thinkers of the past. Every year, approximately 3000 German titles are translated into over 40 languages. Many works by both new and established writers, however, remain unknown to English-speaking readers.
U.S. publishers face many difficulties when bringing out books first published abroad. The right translator must be found and hired. Simply keeping track of new titles suited for the North American marketplace is a full-time job in itself. Making readers aware of the books once they are published is another major challenge.
The German Book Office is here to help.
Frankfurt Book Fair » The Frankfurt Book Fair – organiser of the world's most important book industry meeting place – also networks other regions in the world. Its international activities create optimal conditions for new contacts, exchanges and business.
BIZ Beijing » Find a selection of our titles and information on Eichborn in Chinese on the BIZ Beijing webpage.
